Jazz and draw: Harry Sweets Edison - Nice work if you can get it

Harry Sweets Edison - Nice work if you can get it

the musician : Harry Sweets Edison
the tune : Nice work if you can get it
the artist : Marco Jimenez

And here is what Marco says about the drawing: "Harry “Sweets” Edison. I was turned on to this guy while browsing through some radio specials. The things I heard really struck a chord with me, especially the comments about Sweets and Count Basie, saying “it’s not how many notes you put in, it’s how many you leave out.”

I believe “simplicity is the most complex form” was another phrase that followed. It’s funny, because it was around that time that I drew this while doing a lot of other drawings of him. I felt like it was finished enough, and left it as it is, without adding any other body parts."
